Class 4 Course Requirements & Information
Class 4 Learner License
A Class 4 learner license is required prior to attending the course. We will need a copy at the time of booking, and you must also bring it with you on the day of training.
To obtain your Class 4 learner license, you must have held your full NZ Class 2 or Class 3 license for at least 6 months (or 3 months if you are 25 or older).
Please visit your nearest licensing agent (AA or VTNZ) with:- A current driver medical (unless one has been completed within the last 5 years)
- Payment for the applicable licensing fees.

Full 2-Days Thoery Course Structure (Required if Unit Standard 24089 is Not Current)
- $1400 including GST
If Unit Standard 24089 (Worktime Logbook and Fatigue Management) has not been completed within the last 12 months, the full 2-days course is required and structured as follows:
- Day 1: Unit Standard 24089 – Worktime Logbook & Fatigue Management
- Day 2: Unit Standard 17576 – Heavy Vehicle Driving Skills (including practical components and assessment)
- Drive Assessment will be decided on 2nd day of the course.
1 Day Theory Course if unit Standard 24089 is current
Theory Unit Standard 17576
- $1200.00 including GST
- 1-day theory course
- 1 x 3-hour driving lesson
- 1 x 1.5-hour assessment drive
- We are more than happy to come onsite to your yard and use your vehicles for training.
- If your work cannot supply a truck, the student must hire one.

- *Must have completed 24089 (logbook) within 12 months.
- *Must hold learners license to complete the course
- If you would like your credits loaded to your record of learning there will be an additional cost.
